Culver City Hotel
Shooting Star owners recommended

Within Los Angeles is located historic Culver City.  The heart of which is the Culver City Hotel. Located directly next to the old movie studios.  Each guest room is filled with antiques. Entering the lobby you may take a look back into the past with the high ceilings, tall weeping ferns and contempory furnishings.  Off to one side is the bar and lounge area. This also serves as a breakfast area in the mornings.

The tables and chairs are placed around the area with the backs of the chairs custom made to look like the old movie cameras.
The one stately old elevator may take you up to your room, the history that it has seen !  Almost everything you see in the hotel will transport you back in time. It is a lovely presentation of an early hotel, restored, yet kept its original feel.

The city has built around it a number of fine restaurants.  "Fords Station" - owner and chef is the son of  actor Harrison Ford.
Nearby are other restaurants and upscale boutiques.  The movie theater is just a few steps away from the hotel.
The area has the feel of a small city with in a city.  Its a neighborhood.   The people here take pride in what they have.
A nice clean and respected neighborhood.

As their are no buildings next to the old hotel it seems to stand alone,  a reminder of past days and a monument to its era.
Once owned by actor John Wayne and lived in by many of the Hollywood stars.  It was also the hotel where the famous Wizard of Oz Munchkins stayed during the filming of that movie.  The studio thought they could save money and put five or six of the little people on one room.  This turned out to be a large mistake for the studio.

We recommend this hotel.  The staff is friendly and they make you feel at home. We had a wonderful stay and plan to go back as soon as possible.
Staff member Kevin may even play the vintage grand piano while you have your morning coffee.
